OUR STORY: Soroptimist International of Mid-Atlantic Online

Soroptimist International of Mid-Atlantic Online was officially established on July 1,
2015, after operating for two years under an existing local club, SI/Greenville in South
Carolina. As a virtual only club, our geographic boundaries are those of our Federation,
Soroptimist International of the Americas, Inc. (SIA) with assignment to the SIA Region,
Central East Coast in the United States of America. Structured the same as local clubs, we
participate in all the Region, Federation, and International conferences, conventions and
programs. Membership is open to existing Soroptimist International (SI) members and
new members who prefer to meet virtually. Our club members currently reside in PA, MD,
VA, NC, SC and FL with an honorary member in the Soroptimist International of Great
Britain & Ireland Federation. We have a friendship link club in Italy within the Soroptimist
International of Europe Federation.
Scheduled meetings are virtual with service projects conducted in partnership with other
SIA club(s) and in collaboration with women’s groups, educators, coalitions, nonprofits,
and concerned citizens within the local communities of our members. Our club
fundraisers are also jointly conducted online and led by members in their local
communities. The proceeds support our club’s mission and goals; in particular, the SIA
Dream Programs.

We believe that Soroptimists are women at their best, working to help other women to
be their best.
